This year is a blip on the radar. Like Philly in 06-07. Next year we will be so back!

(frank)ing give the fans some hope already and fire pg now, hes not needed and it will atleast show the fans they are wanting to change. I do have a very bad feeling he will not be fired like brian murray in ottawa and he will be here next season

a GM who thinks of it as just business would not had apoligized for hiring an anglo coach.

Seems more like catering to the media and public.

I think that's possible.

but fans should want for more than their team to just be competitive--which should be a given next season.

the fans that have followed and really cared about this team over the years should long for them to establish a way back to their unique and vibrant culture. It's all gone missing this year...most of squashed by the Emperor.

Do you feel as PG has been the issue with the loss of class this organization has had? Trading a guy in game, and then trading two guys in Gill and Spacek, telling them early, and then not telling them where for several hours later isnt exactly a classy move. Do these actions of our GM exactly exemplify class at all?

well, your statement is a contradiction.

He did apologize--because he was forced to by those who hold him accountable for his decisions.

if it wasn't just business, he'd have never have made the decision in the first place.

And you got it right when you said he was just catering to the media and the public--just business.

I see no problem with habs having 2-3 years of losing, the wannabe fans and people that don't know that much about hockey will quit. Leaving us with better ticket prices, less stupid comments on trade/roster/coach, less useless media coverage (RDS talking about kostitsyn for 10 hours straight with 12 different "analysts", antichambre, attaque a 5, etc.)

of course I'm just exposing 1 side of the medal, the direction would never accept less money in their pocket, which explains why they refuse to go "reconstruction route"

I'd like for every fan that's argued that the Canadiens should tank, rip it apart, and start the five-year rebuild process to keep this season at the front of their minds. Go over every part of it. Then argue that the people of Montreal would accept at least three seasons of this, let alone five.

- EricEngels

Who's talking about five years? The team is not that bad...it doesn't need to be blown up... Sure we need to get rid of some dead weight (Gomez, Kaberle)... we need to add a few pieces (a top 5 pick...a player or 2 in FA)...

We need Markov back or a plan in case he doesn't make it back...

AND A NEW GM, probably a new coach too...who can get this team going. Look at what MacLean did for the Sens'...he gave them life...an identity and hope. What doesn Cunneyworth give the habs? Tongue lashings? benchings?

A year off doesn't mean the Habs need to tank for 5 years straight...but they should take full advantage of tha off-year to draft the best player that will help this team.
